It was time for Splendora’s family  to take their yearly museum trip. This year it was Splendora’s turn to pick, she wanted to go to The museum of fine art but the only available time to tour it was halloween. Splednora said that was no problem and booked a tour for halloween night.

Splendora went to tell her family the news, they were all sitting in the living room watching tv.

“Mother, father.”

“Yes Splendora.” Her father said without taking his eyes off of the tv.

“I have booked our yearly museum trip.”

“Oh that’s great dear.” Said her mother while clicking forward through the commercials.

“Aren’t you going to ask where we are going?”

“Ok where did you book our tour for Splendora.”

“Well father I booked it for The Museum of Fine Art.”

“That’s nice Splendora.”

“Mother? Are you going to ask when we are going?”

“Fine dear, when did you book the tour for.” She asked without her eyes leaving the screen.

“For halloween night.”

Both of her parents turned their heads to look at Splendora and what she just said. “Dear, did you just say halloween night?”

“Yes mother.”

“Splendora, go to your room for me and your mother to talk.”

“Yes father.”

As Splendora walked towards her room, she started to hear her parents arguing.

“We can’t go to the museum, at least not that night.”

“Hank, we can’t tell her the truth. She’s not ready for it.”

“Loretta how do you know if you won’t give her the chance.”

“I’m not discussing this anymore. We will go but we will keep an eye on her. This is her 13th halloween, who knows what she can do.”

What were they talking about? So what was the big deal, it was just halloween it’s not like anything out of the ordinary was going to happen. I decided to forget about it and just go to bed and just wait for the tour. It was only 5 days away.

“Come on mother, come on father! It’s time to go, we are going to be late.”

“Ok coming Splendora, meet me and your mother in the car.”

“Yes father.”

Once we got to the museum it was wonderful. I got to look around and look at all of the paintings. I came across one that looked like it was following me. It was titled the scream, I walked up to it and the clock struck 10pm. I turned around to walk away and a burst of air knocked down all the paintings, but the one that's eyes follow you, it was called “The Scream”.  My parents came rushing in after it, yelling for me.

“Splendora what happened?”

“I don't know father, all I know is… father why am I in the air?”

“Splendora we need to talk.”

“Father what’s happening?”

The lights started to flicker, the walls started to shake. Then a giant flash happened and I yelled “Fatherrr!” and then the room went white.

“Splendora? Splendora?”

I watched him walk away, but I couldn't move. I was stuck. Stuck as The Scream.
